DESCRIPTION:Rabbi Rami Shapiro was our 2022 Spiritual Searcher Speaker.  We welcomed him to Columbus on August 26th through 28th\, 2022.  During his visit\, Rabbi Rami invited our community to join him in the Days of Awe for the World event series.  This is a wonderful way to follow up with Rabbi Rami’s work.  This event is organized and run by Rabbi Rami’s organization\, One River Foundation.  We wanted to share it with you here. \n———————————————————–\nRabbi Rami Shapiro and Frank Levy invite you to join them for One River Foundation’s 3rd Annual Days of Awe for the World – A Journey of Teshuvah/Return and Tikkun/Repair September 25 through October 5\, 2022 – 1 Tishrei 5783 through 10 Tishrei in the Hebrew calendar.\n\nThe Days of Awe from Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur (September 25 through October 5 this year) are the most sacred and important days of the Jewish liturgical year. They are a time for deep introspection\, contemplation\, and transformation around two themes teshuvah – returning to our true nature as a manifesting of the Divine and tikkun – repairing the world with justice and compassion\, by being a blessing to all the families of the earth (Genesis 12:3).\nOne River Foundation’s Days of Awe for the World: A Journey of Teshuvah and Tikkun is an innovative\, multimedia\, multi-day\, interactive opportunity for people of all faiths and no faith to experience the power and beauty of this yearly period of deep introspection\, contemplation\, and transformation. \nDays of Awe for the World includes pre-recorded meditations for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur and a liturgical journal which draw on traditional Jewish readings\, prayers\, and cantorial chanting\, pre-recorded meditations on the Thirteen Attributes of Godliness emailed to you each morning between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur\, as well as live Zoom study sessions on Rosh HaShanah\, and Yom Kippur afternoon.\nThis year’s Zoom study sessions will explore the Jewish themes and texts in the music of Nobel Laureate\, Bob Dylan (Robert Zimmerman) (Rosh HaShanah) and the “Jewish bard” Leonard Cohen (Yom Kippur). SUMMARY:Clergy-Led Bible Study for Adults
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Bible study each Wednesday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in Grace Hall at First Community North.  Bible studies will be led by First Community clergy each week.  Teachers and topics will rotate.  Clergy include Rev. Glen Miles\, Rev. Mary Kate Buchanan\, Rev. Sarah Kientz\, and Rev. Tim VanSant. \n*Before the Bible study\, you are also invited to a light supper at 5:30 PM and a short worship service with devotion at 5:45 PM.  Bible study begins at 6:00 PM. \nREGISTRATION:  No registration needed.  Just show up!

DESCRIPTION:Wander Walks – Cultivating Sensibility and Surprise\nTwo facilitated Greater Columbus nature experiences that include both guided walking and free time to explore. Attend one or both walks. Attendees will meet in the parking lot at the walking location. \nFacilitator:\nWalks will be led by Cindy Lanese\, admirer of the natural world. Certified as Ecotherapy Facilitator and also Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects\, she joys in being an ‘Earthwalker’. Note: Certifications not required for living ;-)) \nCindy’s lifelong love and pursuit of connection with nature\, along with deep respect of indigenous wisdom and ritual are threads deeply woven in the tapestry of her life. Her love is embodied in her experiential living. \nWander Walk No. 1\nWednesday\, September 28\, 2022 @6:00 PM\nApproximately 90 Minutes\n\nLocation:\nThis walk will be held in a wooded area in the village of Riverlea in Worthington\, about a 20-\nminute drive from First Community North or South.  This beautiful walk is largely on level\nground.\n1. Take N High St. to W. South St. in Worthington:\n2. Turn onto W. South St. and follow it to the end.\n3. Turn left onto Olentangy Blvd. and follow it to the end. Park along the side of street.\nLook for Cindy – She’ll be waiting there. \nWalkers should wear comfortable walking shoes. \nWeather: In case of inclement weather\, the walk will be cancelled\, and participants will be contacted to\nrescheduled. \nCarpooling – interested in carpooling from First Community North – indicate below\, and we’ll connect you with others who are interested. \nRegistration Fee: Freewill love donation \nREGISTER HERE
